Structure of Protective Layers
What protective layers does the metal profile have?
Low carbon steel sheets are used as the main raw material. Although steel is a durable material, it requires protection against corrosion. To ensure durability, it is coated with a layer of zinc on both sides. A passivation layer and a primer layer are then applied to the steel. The process finishes with a decorative polymer layer on the front and a protective layer on the back.
Why is the zinc layer important?
Applying a layer of zinc ensures that the steel base will not be damaged even in cases where the outer layers of the metal profile are compromised.
